Oneplus 15 in-depth review: battery, screen, camera, design and finish, software and value for money. All test results...
There's one word that describes my relationship with OnePlus phones over the years: expectations. It is a feeling that we have a performance rocket in our hands that, generation after generation, let us touch the quality with our fingers. The OnePlus 12 made us believe they had succeeded. But the OnePlus 13 brought us back to reality with the photography process that went back, remember that balance is very important.
But this year the OnePlus 15 comes not only with a promise under the arm, but with a double attack on the historical weaknesses of the high-end.The first one has its name: "DetailMax Engine", a new processing engine with which the brand wants to pay its debt in the photography department. The second is a number that appears to be a typo, but allows for silicon-carbon batteries: a 7,300 mAh battery.
They do not have two consecutive developments. The answer to this question is: What is the point of having enough energy if you are still afraid to use it?Fear that the execution of the photo will not come out with the quality you expect, and the fear that this very useful use will leave you without a battery before you return home.
We collected it a few weeks to bring you this review of the OnePlus 15. A phone that not only pursues photographic redemption, but aspires to something much more ambitious and, above all, practical: not needing a socket every day.

Production: Give me two
We were able to test the back of the OnePlus 13, known as MAO (Micro-Arc Oxidation), with a process based on aerospace technology that creates a ceramic layer on metal. The unit I got is always the nicest in my opinion. And boy does it feel premium. In fact, the company itself revealed to us during the presentation that it is the only color variant that includes this manufacturing technology.
It is a very elegant terminal, with aluminum edges and a front dominated by the original pants.Of course, there has been a significant change at the back: now the camera model has changed its shape, as OnePlus said goodbye to Hasselblad screen printing.I will talk about this later.
It is a more stylized and subtle module than the last generation: the cameras are located in an oval square in the upper left corner. This camera combines three cameras and provides space for the usual LED flash in the perforation.
OnePlus 15 is a stylish Android mobile phone.Let me explain: It's big, definitely heavy, very good quality, but not suitable for little hands. It also doesn't target the new ultra-thin segment like the Galaxy S25 Edge or iPhone Air.Here we have a "traditional" flagship, but this is a new era for the Chinese company.
Does it look like OPTO got its hands on the X9 Pro?The design of the camera unit is unique. The same goes for the button on the right: it's called "included in key" instead of using a "SNAP key".Coming back to this area of news, yes I can say that the table is built on Android, has a lot of personality and is the same as those with the same name as its sister.
Needless to say, the build is reminiscent – just like other Android companies, look at the Galaxy S25 or Pixel 10 of Apple's iPhone. The OnePlus 15 relies on flat metal sides, a flat screen and back, in short: zero curves.
It weighs 211 grams (215 in other colors), which is not overgery at all, but it is noticeable for those who like compact phones.Regardless of the choice, it is completely representative, think about the big battery hidden behind this case.
Back to the "plus key": it's goodbye to the alert slider, one of the hallmarks of the Chinese manufacturer since its inception.Every day, I have to say that I find it one of the best AI applications on Android.
I'll talk more about this later in the software section, but this is a custom button to assign functions that can be mastered.
Abandoning the new button for the exit, there are no changes in the layout of the button board or other components, on the right side, with the microphone and the speaker on the right side, along with the volume and key buttons. And USB-C port (3.2 1, host (3.2 1, host), the main part of the speaker and the SIM card slot.
Some of the papers I like in the way of their cold design and Matte design. There is no glitter in the new plus games, unlike what Google usually does on its flagship.Plus, fingers crossed, it's the same as the reverse.
I can only comment on the front, I have no complaints about the huge 6.78 inch screen.Yes, the company has problems reducing the resolution compared to the OnePlus 13, but it makes a lot of sense, I'll explain later.
Like I said, it's too big for me.That doesn't mean the face is well used: there's very little visible frame, which always helps with one-handed operation.Just broken by the circular cut and no message in the Android view. Now, it's time to talk about it from a technical perspective.
Display: Very good, not perfect
It's well-equipped, but it's good-looking, has 10-bit support and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. This display is designed for 2272 x 1272 pixels, and the output of this display is not lower than the initial code level, which is not enough for its requirements, but does not fall below 165 pixels.By the way, LTPO (1 to 165 kg).
Are those small bezels I'm talking about uncomfortable? It's not particularly special for me, but it's easy for them to be on purpose by touching 1.15 millimeters.I think it's worth it because of the way the screen is screwed into the frame.
On the other hand, the corresponding FSF is not stored all the time in the program. However, it does not detract from any of the benefits of this panel.I also like its compact response with no actual delay like some dead phones.
At maximum brightness, no problems, even with the powerful southern sun.We are talking about a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and what surprised me the most: the minimum brightness of 1 nit, with the option to dim it to half, a function for which my eyes are grateful every night before I go to sleep. It's not the highest peak on the market, nor is it a problem when we look at these numbers.
In terms of functions, common in the industry: a mode that affects the interface when dusk comes, the possibility of color calibration or the AOD mode, which is very versatile in customization thanks to the OnePlus layer.
Yes, I'm fascinated by the reminder mode in "comfortable comfort" mode, it lets us know when to stop blinking to relax the eyes or keep a safe distance from the screen.
Sometimes the whole thing feels like you're subtracting something and that's not the case: it's great, it's a lot of fun to consume multimedia content, both because of the non-existent frames and the printed colors.
Resistance comes from Corning using Gorilla Glass 2. It should be able to withstand a few drops, but thankfully that wasn't the case during our review period. Also, since the screen is pre-installed with plastic, it's hard to damage it as long as you're careful.
The case (sold separately) fits like a glove, although it doesn't provide a good sense of durability due to the hard plastic.Besides, it's a shame to cover your back, which feels great.
And in front of the front, under the screen, the main biometric method of proof is the secret: an ultrasonic fingerprint. The open face is more responsive than other phones, but it really depends on the front camera and the light at the time.
Audio: Not shared with ADO
The OnePlus 15 looks brutal so far for playing or consuming multimedia content, right? It just falters – it doesn't fail – at the other end of the scale: the audio hardware. Although the speakers respond well when the volume does not go above 50%, it suffers from the same as the Oppo Find
To watch an episode of a series or movie, it's best to leave the task to dedicated headphones.Additionally, OnePlus (here like Oppo) allows some equalization adjustments from the software that also affect Bluetooth headphones. It's not bad, although I prefer to leave it on "smart" mode so as not to go into settings every time.
Zero problems with my Pixel Buds and with some Jabra Elite 10, clear audio and more than enough volume. Moreover, this OnePlus does not miss any type of codec, including those of the Qualcomm aptX family. In my case, I could only test the standard and already old aptX.
Performance: Qualcomm's most powerful devices can't crash. They don't just fail, they shine
What to expect from Qualcomm's most powerful chip this year?We have already met the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the Realme GT8 Pro, and here we will see a performance that has not yet been achieved on the Android scene (as we will see from now on for the rest of the brand). If MediaTek has improved in recent years, then Snapdragon is no match for it.
And best of all, it almost didn't heat up: I have a latest generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, which generates a lot more heat as soon as I start playing graphically demanding titles. The Snapdragon SoC has made a small leap, let me explain: the distribution of cores is the same (2 Prime + 6 P-Coes), but the higher clock frequency puts 20% more performance on the table. Also, its GPU has been revolutionized a bit.
If we add 16 GB of RAM to it, we have a device that is fast and fast with more - I will comment on it later - so everything flows and there is no delay.Obviously, the hardware for the most part, although thanks to Android designed for this purpose. The Chinese company mentions seeing the animations when the app jumps, and with good reason: it is difficult to lag.
Playing with the OnePlus 15 is amazing. The tactile response of the screen, its colors and renewal rate, along with Qualcomm power, creates an unrivaled experience.Even the games cannot be resisted: 'Fortnite' is epic 60 FPS nailed all the time and without a hint of heat.'Genshin Impact', on the other hand, also runs it without breaking a sweat: rock-solid frames even in cities with many polygons.
In synthetic tests, there are some places in the community, although when I play I have not had any decrease in FPS or the label "check on the clock.

OnePlus has once again put the culprit vapor chamber in its OPPO, OPPO, to keep the heat generation low.As I said, "hot", it will not bother you, it will be a little hot.Of course, we'll have to wait until summer to see how the heat holds up.In my tests, indoors and outdoors, I performed brutally with the new chip.
Software: Android 16 optimized to keep everything running
As it would not be otherwise, the latest version of Android comes this time.OnePlus comes with Android 16 from the factory, and although it will not enjoy the same update policy as other manufacturers such as Google or Samsung, it will pass at least four major versions of the application.
Here we have maxygenos 16, which is Smope's version of Smo Manes: Color changes and many features are shared between all groups in China. The days of the pure whites of the original show will come, but in the ways they have managed to find full and complex programs.
It offers a lot of customization based on the Android platform as well, in terms of adjusting the wallpaper accent color and icons (if selected) and widgets. You can also choose a unified or separate notification control center, there are many additional options in display and sound settings... I could write for hours about its customization options.
By the way, the configuration of the “plus button” is different, the surface of which is practically modeled on that of the iPhone.By default, the “Save to Mind Space” option is active (for AI use), but it can be used as a replacement for the extinct “Alert Slider”.It doesn't make it optimal, but it is like this: a simple touch doesn't change between sound modes.
In fact, this Oxygen 16 has something to say about AI: it has a section dedicated to settings.AI writing for text or messages, translation in any language, voice transcription, real-time transcription with the Vitamin Voice tool ... The AI resources of Android phones are no longer surprising, it seems that manufacturers can now stick to production tools that not all take advantage of it.
If the Mind Space option is maintained (an application that manages the memories captured by a button), pressing the Plus button will take an intelligent screenshot that can be used to access information at any time;a long press activates the recording of voice notes which are transcribed and analyzed by a language model.Just with this gesture, I filled the application with memories that I then consult from Gemini: OnePlus has It is nicely solved.
This OxygenOS 16 will not be the closest layer of Android on the Pixel. And while it may not appeal to the public who want a "Made by Google" interface, the truth is that OnePlus lacks detail.I am very confident in its stability, as well as fluidity in every part of the system (I repeat, I know).
Water, by the way, takes a lot of work in the development of software and tools:
- They rewrote the core to improve gameplay
- Mobile modules have three specific cores: performance core (which I mentioned about the core), network core (special chip for WiFi) and touch core (for better screen response).
- In addition, its software engine is optimized for background services, but also for animations and performance for multitasking and, of course, heavy tasks.
Android security patches are as important or more important than OS updates themselves, in which case the OnePlus 15 will receive five years of updates with the latest patches. It currently has related patches due out in October, and will continue to receive them continuously for a long time.
Although the manufacturer's application package is very extensive and in utilities that not everyone will benefit from, upon opening it I found a small bowl of water. In any case, the program allows a lot with the deletion of services. There is nothing obvious as it is integrated with Google; To celebrate the integration with Apple: "Airdrop" that acts as a bridge between the company, the company, iOS and oxygenos, "Airdrop" as a bridge that allows sharing as if they do not leave the Apple ecosystem.
The power of high-end chips sometimes takes premium terminals out of the autonomy of efficiency-based processor mobile phones.Of course, at these dimensions (about seven inches) we've seen much higher-powered batteries, which have now made a brutal leap thanks to silicon-carbon.
On average, I charged this OnePlus two or three times a week or less, depending on how much I use it.But there is nothing controversial and difficult: it can last up to four days, connected to electricity.Actually, this was my best time: four days and nine hours. An average of three hours of active screen time per day.
Of course, silicon-carbon batteries change many conditions, I would say that it will change. In terms of the new flagships, I'm talking about 7,300 mah in a "standard" thickness of only 8 meters. It's amazing, and that's great.
It has multiple performance modes. In my case, I keep the default settings 99% of the time: only in some game tests do I use the high performance mode. And I don't use it unnecessarily but just curious, I don't think too much about it. The power will not be left for a long time, it might be easy to use if you work with videos from your mobile. or more than this
Thanks to the battery I talked about, the refresh of 165 Hz can stay without destroying the autonomy. It's the phone at its best without complications or compromises.I like the Chinese company's AOD mod and have always used it, it won't have a "tangible" effect on battery life.
The OnePlus 15 supports BBK's fast charging: SUPERVOOC.Max 120W, Excellent: In just 40-50 minutes it charges from 0-5% to 100%.And if we talk about wireless charging, it also supports 50 watts, in my case I do not have a charger with these characteristics, it should last about two hours on a compatible base. The station should also have a wireless charging compatible case, as does the official case you put it in.
A very interesting work from this time clearly shows the focus on games from the Chinese manufacturer “DPAPSSE”.With it open, it allows the cell phone to rest directly on the socket while it touches the battery to reduce brightness. For these and other reasons highlighted by the software, it seems that the brand will focus more on games than on nature or painting.
Below I leave the percentage achieved in the given period:
- 5 minute charge: 16% battery.
- 10 minutes charging: 33% battery.
- 20 minutes of the Figure: 64% ratio.
- 30 minutes charging: 87% battery.
- Total: 44 minutes of driving.
I recommend activating battery protection, which is included in the "Battery" > "Battery status" section in a very visible way.You will not lose much autonomy and you will slow down the aging of the internal battery. When a full charge is needed, the "Smart Charging" feature, which I often use on the Pixel, postpones the last extension (from 80 to 100%) until I wake up.
As a tip in this section, I'm talking about the "optimize vacation" option: until I discovered it a few days later, I had problems with WhatsApp notifications. They came from time to time despite blocking the app and removing Android battery optimization.
Camera: better
Compared to its predecessor, the one in 15 doesn't represent much on paper in terms of its image quality. This is how the camera layout looks like:
- 50 megapixel main camera, f/1.8, 1/1.56", 6P. IMX906
- 50 megapixel telephoto camera, F / 2.8, 3.5x optical zoom.s5kjn5
- 50 megapixel ultra wide camera, f/2.0, 116º, autofocus.OV50D
- 32 megapixel front camera, f/2.4, 21mm.Custom IMX709
The similarities with the Oppo Find X9 Pro end in photography: sensors with less aperture, lower resolutions... Next to the Vivo X300 Pro, another beast in photography, the same thing happens. However, this does not mean that in practice we find a bad phone. On the contrary, it more than fulfills itself as a worthy high-end.
In the absence of a dedicated dedicated ISP, OnePlus developed its technology with the name of the bomb: "Frille Frlockmax".It is a set of industrial computational algorithms that work to maximize camera hardware.
camera app
Before addressing the issue, let's talk about the OnePlus camera app: another piece of software it shares with the OPPO.Very dense in design options.
navigation through customizable tabs, timelapse, long exposure or underwater modes of all kinds (for use in a waterproof case, stop touch); In short, a familiar and well-equipped application.
Obviously, the capture of raw does not disappear through the "Master" mode, as well as "Video Pro" where you can control the recording of the same functions (ISO, speed, pure balance ...).The manufacturer has put all the possibilities, including 4K / 120 FPS, to record the log.
And speaking of settings, there's a lot to play with: photos in HEIC instead of JPEG, HEVC codec for video and a very good option to lock the lens (we avoid obvious transitions between lenses during recording).
If you want to adjust your camera to the maximum then this is your app. Now, for the average user, it can be more than one layer of complexity.Things waste a good amount of time. The hardware is worth it.
Camera and main camera
Going for examples is always better than talking on air. This is the main room where the first battle of liberation took place. While the OnePlus 13 gave us aggressive processing, saying goodbye to Hasselblad this year changes history: however, it takes a bit of a leap.
The Chinese manufacturer has introduced its own performance engine, "Detalma Quotation".Instead of 12m resolution, Frint combines auto mode to create a 26MP file.It delivers beautiful images.
The level of detail in complex textures such as cobblestones or tree leaves is exceptional. The workmanship is not shy and enhances the colors, but without the artificial oversaturation of other generations. It's a very attractive look, ready to be shared.
Here we can see the performance of the digital X2 'X2' planted in the main liquid.A large amount is kept, as seen in the structure of a hard rock or the leaves of a tree, without falling into an abnormal excessive concentration.Very convenient and easy to use x2
Due to the size and aperture of the main sensor, the natural blur when approaching the subject is very sharp and aesthetic, as shown in the plant photo.I like the way OnePlus' processing defines the threads without creating artificial halos. On the sculpture, he does a good job again: he manages the complex scene, preserving the details and notes of the moss, without raising the shadows too much: a very natural result.
When night falls, the "Clear Night Machine" comes into play.In the k1 shot (left), the results are spot on: it keeps the sky black, doesn't try to "turn night into day", and controls the high lights of street lights and signs very well. When pushing the digital k2 (right), the loss of sharpness is obvious: pavement textures are washed out and more noise appears, but the processing manages to keep the white balance and light control in line with the main shot. And k2 usable for emergencies.
Ultra-wide angle and macro photography
The 50MP 50MP Corner Sensor proves that it is not just here to fill the spec sheet. One can expect nothing less from the OnePlus 15 category. During the day, it gives reliable results, as we see in Landscape and sky shots.
It maintains the rotation of 116º 116º and even the sharpness on the edge is lower than that of the main sensor and the white balance is slightly cooler, the white balance does not change, the color processing does not change. They are more than a usable image.
Night is the litmus test for this type of sensor: There are many differences. The main sensor gets a lot of processing with hands-free, greater sharpness and glare control. The ultra- angle, and f / apertens, lack more than Sharpness decreases, but remembers the afternoon glare.I found it amazing, even noisy when you try to plant every detail.
The strength of this sensor lies in the macro mode. Thanks to autofocus, we can get closer to the photographed object at a distance of several centimeters.Of course, it's hard to get it right.
The level of detail achieved on the shamrocks (in focus) is excellent and the background blur is not bad.The texture of tree bark is the same. The good performance was to be expected, since we are not dealing with a cheap phone, I hope the other series will leave aside the dedicated low-resolution macros.
The 50 MP telephoto sensor showed itself very well just by looking at "the paper";also in practice. With the 3.5x optic, in broad daylight, the results are excellent.I loved the sharpness of the texture and the contrast. In the photo on the right, the aperture gets a nice little bokeh, highlighting the animal in the background.
On the other side you can see the progress of Zoom.We start with a 2x digital sensor (48mm), which is very reliable.Jumping up to 85mm (3.5X telephoto lens), sharpness isn't great.
But the most surprising thing is the 170 mm, which is the same as the 7X "due to the elimination" of the brand promotion. The new Procek works and despite being a hybrid zoom, the definition is very good.If this artificial intelligence during this day is positive, it is correct in interpretation. It gives results that really work.
That 7x without loss I speak of bright light clearly: The landscape below confirms. On the left, the 3.5x optic provides good clarity. On the right 7x Sybrid again appears on top.
But how far does it go?The maximum digital zoom reaches 120x.In the first image (3.5x) and the second (7x 'lossless'), the bridge looks sharp and detailed. In the third image, when zoomed in to the maximum (120x), the reality disappears.A process "digitizes" the entire structure, creating an image that resembles a painting. It can be seen as a rail, but this image is generated by AI, rather than a real image
At night, this same telephoto OnePlus 15 defends itself with dignity. In abundant artificial light, the optical zoom (85 mm, above) takes a clean, sharp image.
At 243mm (about 10x center), OIS and finish work together to control the watch's brightness and preserve detail.not bad
At 723mm (bottom), the sharpness holds - the AI does an incredible job of identifying the hands of the watch. With such extreme digital zoom and artificial light, the problem is solved.
Selfie and portrait
Last year the selfie was good, but this year, it has a new sensor: 32MP, RGBW RGBW technology (adds to save white color) and finally, autofocus.Optimization is limited.
The sensor manages very complex lighting with the sun in front, controls flare and maintains fine details. When portrait mode is activated (below), cropping is very good, even in complex areas such as hair.Blur is natural and can be directly controlled. It doesn't clash with the front camera series at all.
The Bokeh of the Modine Portrait is good regardless of the sensor: it lets in a lot of light. In the second (larger sensor) you can see more photos.Blur is good, with exciting separation.
I liked the best with the 105x phone.Pearl Latova, to separate the best from a good baker?i'm fine
Therepplus 15 is not insulting when it comes to video recording: 8k / 30fps.You can find out how the sensors work in these areas, both during the day and when it's raining. Not bad, not until another video.Recorded in 4k / 60 FPS.
Oneplus 15, meaning of opinion and notes
After these weeks with the OnePlus 15, there's a feeling of sheer power. It's a phone that doesn't force you to choose between performance and autonomy. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is a rocket that doesn't overheat, the 165Hz display is a visual delight, and the software is stable and fast. But the undisputed star is the 7,300 mAh battery: silicon and carbon are not marketing, they are a game-changing revolution.Forgetting the charger for three or four days is a reality.
Get a mobile phone in the power and electronic billing, and the ice cream is weak, it is the best in the top of his rights.to match the "Olympus" Google, Vivo or Google's sister
The OnePlus 15 didn't let me down, either in terms of battery or performance. The new MAO design is premium, 120W charging is comfortable when you last use it, and "bypass charging" like focus on power user and gamer. This is not a phone for photographers looking for great portraits. It's a phone for people who want maximum power, maximum fluidity and the best autonomy on the market, without a doubt. If you can live with remarkable features rather than a great camera, the OnePlus 15 is currently the king of the high-end in terms of performance and battery.
- 7,300 mAh silicon-carbon that provides 3 or 4 days
- Outstanding performance: it's a rocket thanks to the elite genes of Snapdragon 8 and it doesn't get hot
- the mao design feels premium to the touch and the 165Hz screen is perfectly fluid
- Smart software functions and useful software, such as "add keys" with "support" or "high settings".
- The cameras are remarkable, but still a step below their direct rivals in the premium segment
- The speakers turned up the volumes and never appeared on the whole phone
- OXYGOS 16 is stable and complete, but rare, lost and lost in the smart slide
The terminal is provided by OnePlus for testing purposes. You may refer to our policies regarding our relationship with the company and how we conduct reviews.
